If you're willing to sink a little money into it, I'd go with the 1301, maybe the m2/m3/m4 series. I'm still in the search for a semi-auto defensive shotgun. I had really been leaning to the M4, bought have been reading and viewing a lot of really good reviews on the Beretta 1301. Does anyone here have experience shooting the 1301? I have shot the M4, but have no hands on experience with the 1301.But there is a big name check tax on that one. In the past the 1301 was operationally close to to the m4 so it was a far better deal to get a 1301 and an optic or other extras then the m4 if you didn't need the name. The question is the A300 while a small down grade on paper does it perform just as good as the 1301.It seems that both the 1301 and M4 are designed with the defensive/tactical shooter primarily in mind.
